配置文件设置 

身份仪 provides 的 ability to set a profile password, which will save your settings and secure your 身份仪 reports and/or results. 

注意: This password is created by 的 individual.  It is not your BadgerID password. If you forget your 身份仪 profile password, we cannot assist you in retrieving it or any data (身份仪 reports or results) you may have saved under 的 profile. 

It is not necessary to create/use an 身份仪 Profile to scan your computer and drives for personally identifiable information and sensitive data.  点击跳过 when prompted to create or enter an 身份仪 profile password to use Identity Finder without establishing a profile.

的 搜索向导 is an easy to use, quick way to begin using 身份仪.

身份仪 has been preconfigured to search your entire computer for Social security numbers and credit card information.

分解ding Personal Information 

When a location has sensitive identity match information in it and you wish to remove it from your computer, you should utilize 的 分解 特征. 分解 is great when you no longer need 的 personal information or any o的r data in 的 项.

 

的 分解 按钮位于 Main ribbon and is enabled for all types of result; however, depending on 的 location of 的 result, 分解 不同的行为.  For files, 分解 utilizes a secure United States Department of Defense wiping standard known as DOD 5220.22-M.  对于其他地点， 分解 removes 的 information from your computer using o的r 适当的方法.

注意:  It is not possible to "undo" a 分解. 分解ded results cannot be recovered. 一次 you shred something, it is gone. 

分解 is effective at protecting your identity because it is permanent.  这意味着 you can never get your data back, it also means a hacker or malicious intruder also 无法取回您的数据.  For files, 分解 utilizes a very secure United States Department of Defense wiping standard known as DOD 5220.22-M.  对于其他地点， 分解 removes 的 information from your computer's hard drive or memory using o的r, 适当的方法.

擦洗bing or Redacting Personal Information 

When a location has sensitive identity match information in it and you wish to keep 的 项 but remove 的 personal information only, you should utilize 的 擦洗 特征. 擦洗 is great when you no longer need 的 personal information but want to keep 的 original 项.  这个特性 is also known as Redact.

注意: 擦洗 is only available for specific file types searched via 的 Files search and is not available for E-Mail or o的r Search Locations.

 

的 擦洗 按钮位于 Main ribbon and is enabled for certain file types.  你只能 擦洗 Office 2007 and higher files (e.g., docx, xlsx, pptx) and text files (i.e., *.文本文件， *.日志,*.ini).

擦洗bing works best for Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.

注意: It is not recommended to use 的 擦洗bing 特征 on proprietary Data Bases, or it is always best to check with 的 身份仪 administrator before 擦洗bing files. 

Securing Personal Information 

When a location has sensitive identity match information in it and you wish to keep 的 项 and securely keep 的 personal information, you should utilize 的 安全 特征.  安全 is great when you still need 的 personal information and original 项.  这个特性 也被称为Encrypt.

 

的 安全 按钮位于 Main ribbon and is enabled for certain file types.  When 身份仪 locates an Identity Match in any of 的 following location types, you will be able use 的 安全 特征 with encryption to protect your identity.

Quarantining Files with Personal Information 

When a file has sensitive identity match information in it and you wish to securely move 的 file to ano的r location, you should utilize 的 检疫 特征. 检疫 will move your file and 的n shred 的 original so that it cannot be recovered by anyone who gains access to your computer.  重要的是你 检疫 files to a location that is highly secure, such as an encrypted drive or a storage device to which unauthorized individuals do not have access.

 

Recycling Files with Personal Information 

If a file does not have sensitive identity match information in it, but you no longer have a use for 的 file, you may wish to 回收 it.  This is not recommended since 的 file can be undeleted in some circumstances.

 

的 回收 action is available only for files.  When o的r types of locations are selected, 的 回收 按钮将被禁用.

忽略搜索结果 

When 身份仪 locates an identity match that you do not care about, you may 希望使用 忽略 特征 to prevent that information from being displayed in 的 future.  例如, 身份仪 may uncover a sample credit card number inside a temporary internet file or a public password you do not want to secure.  In this case, you can tell Identity Finder来 忽略 those matches for 的 current and future searches.  忽略的匹配被添加到 an approved exception list, 的 忽略 List, so you never see 的m again.
